July 11, 2018 – Los Angeles – GAM United FC forward Michael Sarpong has been named UPSL National Player of the Week. A native of Ghana, Sarpong had two goals and two assists in a 6-2 victory over FC Greeley in a UPSL Pro Premier Colorado Conference game on Sunday, July 8, 2018.
Sarpong started and played 90 minutes for GAM United FC (4-3-1 overall), which fell just short of a playoff spot in its UPSL Pro Premier Colorado Conference promotion season.
Objectively the fastest player in the UPSL Colorado Conference, Sarpong scored nine goals in eight games as GAM United FC earned promotion last season. With his two-goal performance vs. FC Greeley, Sarpong had eight goals in eight games this season.
