UPSL National Player Of The Week: RWB Adrias Matt Clare

RWB Adria Chicago Forward Had Two Goals and an Assist in 5-4 Victory

June 20, 2018 – Los Angeles – RWB Adria Chicago forward Matt Clare has been named UPSL National Player of the Week. A native of Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.), Clare scored two twice in the second half and had an assist in a come-from-behind 5-4 victory over Union Dubuque in a UPSL Pro Premier Midwest Conference Central Division game on Friday, June 15, 2018.

Clare started and played 90 minutes for RWB Adria Chicago (3-1-1 overall), which sits two points from the top of the table in the UPSL Pro Premier Midwest Conference Central Division with the win.

Clare played two season for the Tampa Bay Rowdies (NASL) from 2011-'12 and is perhaps best known for his professional indoor career with more than 100 total goals across five clubs over the last seven years. Rostered by the San Diego Sockers in the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) since 2015, Clare also played for the United States National Team at the 2016 FIFRA World Cup.

The UPSL National Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by members of the league and journalists covering the UPSL.

United Premier Soccer League

The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 180 teams in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. UPSL is the fastest growing Pro Development League in the USA, with 200-plus teams targeted for 2018 Spring Season. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining either UPSL Pro Premier Division or Championship Division minimum standards.

UPSL teams are all eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through the leagues affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
