June 13, 2018 – Los Angeles – JASA Redwood City forward David Godinez-Chavez has been named UPSL National Player of the Week. A native of Redwood City (Calif.), Godinez-Chavez scored goals on both sides of halftime in a crucial 2-1 victory over Napa Sporting Soccer Club in a UPSL Pro Premier Wild West Conference game on Saturday, June 9, 2018.
Godinez-Chavez, better known as 'Pale', started and played 90 minutes for JASA RWC (5-3-2 overall), which stayed in playoff position in the UPSL Pro Premier Wild West Conference with the win.
'Pale' represented the U.S. National Team at the u17 level, and has played in both Tijuana Xolos (Liga MX) and San Jose Earthquakes (MLS) youth academies. He was recently selected as a NSCAA First Team All-American and Coast Conference Player of the Year after his first season at Saratoga (Calif.)'s West Valley College.
The UPSL National Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by members of the league and journalists covering the UPSL.
